Allen was appointed senior vice president, corporate development & investment review at Enbridge in June 2019. He is responsible for capital allocation, investment review and corporate business development. He also serves on the board of directors of DCP Midstream Partners.
Prior to assuming his current role, Allen served as senior vice president and chief accounting officer of Enbridge and before that vice president and controller of Spectra Energy. In these roles he was responsible for the company’s financial accounting and reporting functions, FP&A and internal controls. He previously served as vice president of business development for Union Gas Limited. In that capacity, he oversaw the business development activities for storage and transmission assets in Ontario as well as gas supply acquisition and planning, product and service development, customer support, gas management and gas control, contract billing and capacity planning and management. Prior to that he served as vice president and treasurer for Spectra Energy, responsible for all financing and capital market activities, credit and risk management, interest rate management, liquidity and cash management, and relationships with major banks and credit rating agencies. Prior to joining Spectra Energy, Allen held various senior level finance roles at both Enterprise Products Partners L.P. and TEPPCO Partners, LP and was an auditor with both Ernst & Young, LLP and Arthur Andersen, LLP. Before starting his business career, Allen served more than four years on active duty in the U.S. Army.
Allen graduated from Texas A&M University with a BBA in accounting and an MS in finance. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with an MBA. He is CPA, CIA and a member of the AICPA.
